Hi Maggie Lovers!

I was a little bit excited when my magnolia stamp club kit arrived this week so guess who features in this image? Tilda of course! Meet ‘Tilda with Stuffed Animal’ from the spring 2011 collection.

Don’t you just love the daffodils on her hat and her gorgeous flowing hair? And the lamb is adorable!

I stamped Tilda using Memento ink on ‘Make it Colour’ blending card and then measured where she was positioned on the page from the edges. Then I opened my graphics program and positioned the ‘Sheepish Rainbow‘ digi (I have secretly been hanging out to get my hands on a maggie with a lamb just so I could use this background image!!) based on the dimensions I had taken. I printed a test sheet first to see that it would line up and then I masked Tilda and put the sheet through the paper. I got it very close to how I had hoped… phew!

I have to admit to really enjoying pulling the mask off. I feel a bit like a kid for some reason. haha yes I am a weird one!

All the DP is last years magnolia paper. I never quite got around to using it but it has a lovely country charm feel and I thought the daffodil pattern worked perfectly with Tilda’s hat!

So in the video I was sharing a tip on light source PLUS I showed how I would colour a rainbow which was the personal challenge I set for the crafters over at make it Colourful the other week. I figured it wasn’t fair of me to set a challenge like that and not take on the challenge myself! hehee

So here’s a close up of my rainbow!

I wish now that I had have removed the lines from the rainbow because I love how the colours all blend together and the black lines are a little distracting.

Now that I have the odourless solvent I much prefer to colour in the large areas of a scene with the prismacolor pencils. I feel like I am not wasting all that ink in my markers!! Plus I prefer the finer detail I can get with the blades of grass too! So all the grass and sky was coloured with pencils and blended with the stump and solvent.

I love the flowing hair on this Tilda. The colours I used are my favourites for red hair, E11, E13, E17, E19 (E19 is what makes it gorgeously red) plus I also added E29 this time in those darker areas.

I am trying a new mix for the skin being E000, E21 and E11. The E21 has a tinge of yellow to it and helps to stop the image looking sooooo pink. I quite like it. Just a new fad. :)

Thanks for stopping by and as always thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. They are always much appreciated!

Big Maggie Squeezes!!

Take care
